Elke and Edgar Feld spent ten days on a project trip to Kenya to see for themselves how the training program at Miwani Farm, which they launched together with the local leaders, is developing. Together with the Kenyan employees, they have built up a great deal over the past few months – and the results are encouraging.
The young adults taking part are highly committed. Many are experiencing real learning success for the first time and have hopes of finding a permanent job after their training. The motivation is palpable – both among the trainees and the teachers, who put their heart and soul into teaching and supporting them. In addition to technical learning, social skills are also practiced and actively encouraged here.
Accommodation is basic and some facilities are still lacking. But the gratitude for this great opportunity is palpable everywhere. For many, it is the first step towards a self-determined future.
