Devastating monsoon rains have struck Pakistan in recent days. Entire villages have been washed away, and hundreds of people have died or are missing (source: Deutsche Welle). Karachi has also been severely affected: water is flooding into homes, leaving families without safe shelter, dry clothes, or food.
For over ten years, we have been working with people in Pakistan to create educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. However, in this acute emergency situation, the focus is on providing emergency aid to those affected. Our Nehemia team on the ground is distributing emergency supplies of food and clean drinking water and organizing emergency shelters. Families with children and elderly people in particular are stranded and in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
