“Star moments” in Ukraine – Brothers Vladislav and Oleksiy (14 and 15 years old), orphans from the Transcarpathian region, have been living with their elderly grandmother for several years. The mother died during a surgery when they were 5 and 6 years old. The alcoholic and violent father died in 2019. nehemia team in Uzhgorod supported the children as much as possible but due to their grandmother’s bad health they soon had to go to an orphanage – which was closed in March 2020 because of the Covid-lockdown. Without the government’s aid they had to return home.
With the help of our “Corona Solidarity Fund” and support from “Sternstunden”, the Ukrainian nehemia team can now provide the children and their grandmother with food, masks, soap and other hygiene items. The boys dream of becoming computer scientists or cooks later.
Both of them thank you from the bottom of their hearts for the great help in this challenging time and for their personal “magic moments” which they were able to experience.
