On June 23, our model kindergarten in Melingkat (Borneo) held the graduation ceremony for the twelve children who will be starting school in July.
Parents and children were visibly proud of what they had achieved, and our teachers also enjoyed the moment.
The Indonesians know how to celebrate such occasions and honor even small milestones.
The mayor and his wife were invited as guests of honor (back row, to the right ), and both gave a speech in praise of the graduates and the commitment of our teachers (back row, to the left).
Many a graduation or master’s degree ceremony in this country could take a leaf out of their book!
