After projects of the nehemia team have been carried out in many countries since the 1990s, some of these countries have formed their own nehemia teams after some time. In 2008 these teams formed the Nehemiah International Network.

The aim of this network is mutual support, cross-cultural supplementation and accompaniment. Common standards are developed for the various fields of activity and synergies are strived for wherever possible.

The international network will be jointly further developed and new projects initiated. As a rule, each of these teams is legally registered and independent as a non-profit organisation in its own country.

Currently, the Nehemiah International Network consists of the German nehemiah team and the teams Borneo (Indonesia/Malaysia), Brazil, Burkina Faso, India, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Thailand and Ukraine. Employees from over 25 nations are involved.
